Position Summary:

The Senior Investment Strategist provides support to Managing Directors and internal teams regarding issues concerning all facets of investments.  Important functions include OIF sub-committee participation, asset allocation research, investment manager selection/termination, investment report writing, client and prospect interaction, private market research and special analysis/projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Performs sophisticated investment research within an emphasis on private market funds
    • Conducts manager due diligence research, including analytical evaluations, qualitative assessments, and on-site interviews with money managers
    • Negotiates fees, minimums, capacity and other special needs with money managers
    • Works with outside legal counsel and the Savile Row team in setting up and managing Oxford's Savile Row Funds
    • Authors manager updates, profiles and attribution reports
    • Performs asset class research
    • Presents to internal and external clients
    • Utilizes network/contacts to bring new ideas and new solutions
  1. Participate in decision-making of Oxford Investment Fellows (OIF) via sub-committee membership
    • Investment manager recommendations and terminations
    • Internal and external communications
  1. Supports MD Business Development and client servicing requirements
    • Works closely with Oxford's Managing Directors to support their Business Development and client servicing needs
    • Creates and delivers presentations, as needed
    • Attends client and prospect meetings, as needed
    • Educates others by participating in various internal meetings

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in a business related field required
  • Minimum of ten years of Investment/Capital Markets experience
  • CFA designation required
  • Must have extensive private market investment experience
  • Must have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Must have a professional demeanor with the utmost respect for confidential matters
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Must have ability to multi-task
  • Must have ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment
  • Must have strong work ethic with a positive attitude
