Position Summary:

Manages the Investment Management Group and Oxford Investment Fellows by establishing the long term investment vision, philosophy and strategies for Oxford's CIO practice. Leads the oversight for all investment manager due diligence criteria and asset allocation policies, is individually responsible for sourcing and vetting specific private market investments, performs investment research and participates on various senior level committees within the firm.


  1. Establishes long term vision and strategies for Oxford's CIO practice          
    • Works with the Board of Directors, CEO and Oxford Investment Board (OIB) in this formulation and execution
    • Accountable to the Oxford Investment Board and CEO
    • Leads the CIO practice with proactive innovation
    • Manages the Investment Management Group through supervision of, and participation in, the various subcommittees responsible for the decision-making authority
    • Establishes due diligence and manager selection criteria
    • Establishes asset allocation policies
    • Manages initiatives and project workflow
    • Delegates report writing assignments/projects
    • Attends Oxford Board meetings and provides commentary
    • Member of Senior Management team
    • Participates in client/prospect meetings on an as needed basis
    • Expand and Lead MD education and training specific to CIO practice including weekly investment calls and webinars

  2. The Oxford Investment Board (OIB)                                                                                
    • The OIB is positioned between Oxford's Board of Directors and the CIO
    • The CIO is a member of the OIB
    • The OIB has primary oversight responsibility of Oxford's CIO practice
    • The OIB will periodically provide Oxford's Board of Directors an evaluation of OIF's activities, performance and areas warranting attention.

  3. Support the continued development of Outcome Based Investing through collaboration with
    the former CIO, who has responsibility for this initiative through 2018

  4. Member of the Mayfair and Regent Street committees that evaluate and approve these private market investments

  5. Execute assigned Strategic Plan action items                                                                                


  • Experience as a CIO (preferred) and managing a team of CFA's (required)
  • Significant experience working with high net worth families
  • Prior experience required in a family office or investment consulting firm
  • Demonstrated skills and experience working in private markets (i.e., hedge funds and private equity) required
  • Prior experience participating in client and prospect meetings
  • Deep knowledge of investment strategies, investment solutions, private markets and the competitive landscape of the wealth management industry
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar analytical/quantitative field with a CFA required
  • Proven capacity for independent thought and decision making
  • Keen focus on performance and results
  • Professional demeanor with the utmost respect for confidential matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
